Ebunoluwa Oduwole

Prof. Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole is a Professor of African Philosophy, Ethics, and Bioethics in the Department of Philosophy at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Nigeria. She previously served as Head of Department of Philosophy, Director of General and Entrepreneurial Studies, Dean, Faculty of Arts, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria. She holds a PhD, M.A., and B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria, an MSc in Bioethics from a consortium of universities, including Katholieke University, Leuven, Belgium; Radboud University, Nijmegen, Netherlands; and the University of Padova, Padova, Italy. She has been teaching Philosophy for over forty years. She is certified in Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Programs. She is a Faculty Member at the West African Bioethics Training Program, now Centre for Bioethics and Research (CBR). She is a member of an indigenous research group that focuses on developing a Community of Practice that ethically enables equitable knowledge production, challenges epistemic hierarchies, and fosters mutual accountability between researchers and community members. She led the Ethics Safeguarding Committee for "The Application of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Mobile Reporting Tool and Data Science to Mitigate Gender-based Violence and Security Challenges During and Post-COVID-19 in Nigeria" Project. She is the Principal Investigator of a Tertiary Education Fund Project on "Developing an Ethical and Culture-sensitive Framework for the Health Workforce and Stakeholders Implementing Quarantine and Isolation (Q&I) in Nigeria." She is also involved in the Scaling Up Research Ethics and Research Integrity (SURER) Project, an NIH-sponsored initiative at CBR. She is a consultant and mentor for the Gambia Research Ethics and Methodology Training Initiative (GAMRETI), a grant-supported program by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Fogarty International Centre. She is an active member of the Bioethics Society of Nigeria.
