Muneera Rasheed

Ms. Muneera Rasheed is a clinical psychologist and mid-career researcher from Pakistan with over 15 years of experience in global early childhood development (ECD) and health systems research. She is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Bergen, Norway, where her work examines the predictive validity of early developmental measures and the role of responsive interactions in shaping children’s trajectories. Her professional background bridges clinical practice, program implementation, and global health scholarship. Ms. Rasheed has made distinctive contributions to the field of decolonizing global health by leading the development of the first and, to date, only guideline produced by LMIC researchers for LMIC researchers on navigating inequities in research partnerships. This work is complemented by subsequent institutional guidelines on strengthening mentorship systems and advancing equitable capacity-building in resource-constrained settings. Together, these outputs represent a unique body of scholarship that reframes equity from a Global South perspective. In addition to her publications, Ms. Rasheed regularly reviews funding proposals for Grand Challenges Canada and manuscripts for international journals in global health and ECD. She mentors early-career women researchers toward first authorship, seeing this as a sustainable pathway to leadership and capacity strengthening within LMICs. Her broader vision is to advance human-centered systems of research and care—systems that respond not only through structural reform but also through equitable and respectful human interactions. At GFBR 2025, she aims to contribute evidence and lived experience to reimagining research partnerships characterized by equity, power-sharing, and resilience.
