Mona Nasser is a Professor in Clinical Epidemiology and Oral Health Research at the University of Plymouth. She is Editor of the Evidence-Based Dentistry journal and co-convenor of the Cochrane Priority Setting Methods Group. She leads an AI and Robotics lab in Dentistry. Outside academia, she is a visual artist and writer, and she founded an art-science initiative called the Metafuturism Lab, in which they co-create stories of alternate futures that embrace the ideas, cultures, and traditions of different disciplines while attempting to integrate the uncertainty of scientific knowledge. She has developed innovative frameworks and methods for research priority-setting exercises and the evaluation of research funders, which have been widely adopted by organizations such as Cochrane and WHO, and recognized by awards like the Bill Silverman Award (2012).
