Samuel is an Associate Professor in Population and Health and a Bioethicist. He’s an interdisciplinary social scientist with research interests in bioethics, child health, mHealth, medicines, transport, and children’s mobility. He was the Research Coordinator of the Wellcome Discovery Award, which is exploring the conceptualizations of solidarity and the design of a solidarity index for ranking global health funders. He has collaborated extensively with both Ghanaian and international partners to implement about 50 empirical research projects. He is currently coordinating a research project that is exploring how Community Health Nurses in Ghana, Ethiopia, and Malawi could be resourced to effectively use their personal mobile phones to improve healthcare delivery services. He is a Co-Investigator of the Environmentally Sustainable HeAlth REsearch (SHARE): from ‘tool solutionism’ to a context sensitive, just, systems-focused and reflexive approach” Project.
