Farirai Mutenherwa is a Hecht-Levi Postdoctoral Fellow at the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics under the Global Infectious Disease Ethics (GLIDE) Collaborative, a joint initiative of the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics and the Ethox Centre, University of Oxford. His research spans the intersection of global health ethics, infectious diseases, and data science, with a focus on the ethical, legal, and social implications of emerging health technologies, big data governance, and equity in international research collaborations. His current work explores strategies for promoting fairness and justice in global health, with particular attention to the role of research ethics guidelines, equity toolkits, and related resources in advancing equity and justice within international clinical trial partnerships. Farirai has contributed to multi-institutional research projects and is actively engaged in capacity-building initiatives that aim to strengthen ethical standards and equitable practices in global health research. He is committed to fostering inclusive research ecosystems and regularly collaborates with stakeholders across academia, policy, and global networks to support evidence-informed ethical guidance and impactful solutions for research partnerships worldwide. Farirai is an alumnus of the University of KwaZulu-Natal South African Research Ethics Training Initiative (SARETI) and a member of the Biomedical Research and Training Institute Institutional Review Board.
