Prakriti Shrestha
Prakriti Shrestha recently completed her doctorate in the Health Systems Program of the Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. During her PhD, she examined how global health funders influence equity in research partnerships between high-income and low- and middle-income country institutions. Her research included a scoping review of equity frameworks, analysis of U.S. funder policies, and a qualitative case study of the Makerere University–Johns Hopkins partnership. She also holds an MSPH in International Health from Johns Hopkins and a BA in Biology from Grinnell College. Beyond her dissertation, she has conducted research on transplant ethics, HIV prevention, digital health, and primary health care in South Asia. She also served as the student lead for the Department of International Health’s Power of Partnership Committee, developing strategies to strengthen equitable collaborations. Her broader interests include global health governance, partnership equity, and advancing frameworks that make research collaborations more fair, inclusive, and sustainable.
